How to Use Breg Polar Pad

  • Always use something like BREG Polar Dressing, Webril, Kerlix, cast padding, or an elastic bandage between the Polar Pad and your skin.
  • Don't let any part of the Pad touch your skin directly.
  • If you have a sterile dressing that doesn't cover the skin under the pad, add another protective layer.
  • Breg TMJ Polar Pad is too cold to put directly on your skin.
  • Place the Polar Pad with the plastic channeled side facing your skin.
  • Don't wrap the pad too tight—it shouldn't limit normal circulation, as that can cause harm.
  • Connect the Polar Pad to the Polar Care unit following the instructions inside the pouch.
  • Check your skin under the Polar Pad every 1 to 2 hours as directed.
  • If you feel increased pain, burning, swelling, itching, blisters, redness, discoloration, or any unusual skin changes, stop using it and contact your practitioner right away.
  • To stop the cold therapy, disconnect the power and gently remove the Polar Pad from your body by pressing the two metal tabs on the hose coupling.

Warning

  • Breg TMJ Polar Pad can be cold enough to seriously injure the skin.
  • Non-sterile and for single patient use only.
  • Do not attempt to sterilize the pad.
