More Information

  • Application:
    1. All mitts fit both left & right hands. The hand should be inserted in the mitt with the back of the hand visible when the flap is open.
    2. The wrist strap should be placed around the wrist and through the 2" loop and then secured with the D-rings. The strap should be tight enough not to allow the user to slide the mitt off but not too tight to compromise circulation. Loose end of strap can be secured with hook & loop.
    Warning: Hook & Loop are only provided to secure loose end of strap.
    Hook & Loop is Not a substitute for slide buckle.
    3. To view the hand, the Velcro attachment on the flaps should be opened and the flap pulled back. When closing, ensure that the flap is tucked back under the material and the Velcro closure is fastened.
    4. If the patients arm and hand movement need to be restricted use the set of looped straps supplied with the mitts.
    5. Thread the non-looped end of the strap through the loop on back of mitt.Thread the non-looped end of strap through loop on end of strap.
  • 6. Tie strap to wheelchair, bed, or geri-chair
    7. Raise and lock bed rails before leaving patient.

  • Laundering:
    - This device should not be laundered or dried at temperatures that exceed 180OF (82OC). Do not use bleach.
