• Instructions: 
  - Place two loops handle on each gait belt. The belt should be inserted through the smaller, inside loop. The larger, outside loop is the grip handle.
  - Secure gait belt around patients waist and position one loop at the patients back and the other at his/her side.
  - Right-handed caregivers should position the side loop at the patients left side, and left-handed caregivers position the side loop at the patients right side. The caregivers strong hand should be used to grip the loop at the patients back.
