SAM Sling II Pelvic Belt is a force controlled circumferential pelvic belt that is scientifically proven to safely and effectively reduce and stabilize open-book pelvic ring fractures. It has a patented autostop buckle prevents over-tightening. A soft, vapor-permeable interior fabric provides comfort, and prevents skin irritation and reduces odor. The narrow width in front allows access for external friction, urinary cauterization and interventional radiology. A low friction slider lining facilitates patient transfers, and is easily applied by a single responder. The sling can be disinfected for re-use, is radiolucent, and is not recommended for use on children.

How to Use SAM Sling II Pelvic Belt?

Remove objects from patientsspockets or pelvic area. Place SAM Pelvic Sling II white side up beneath patient at level of trochanters (hips).
Place Black strap through buckle and pull completely through.
Hold orange strap and pull black strap in opposite direction until you hear and feel the buckle click. Maintain tension and immediately press black strap onto surface of SAM Pelvic Sling II to secure.
Note: Do not be concerned if you hear a second "click" after SAM Pelvic Sling II is secured.

How to Remove ling II Pelvic Belt?

To remove, lift BLACK STRAP by pulling upward. Maintain tension and slowly allow SAM Pelvic Sling II to loosen
The SAM Pelvic Sling II should remain firmly attached to the patient while in the MRI room.
In case of prolonged use, monitor patients skin.
