How to use Rolyan Polyform Walker Hand Splint?
- The splint should be positioned over the walker handle so that the thumb fits into the side opening.
- Attach the hook tabs to the underside of the splint where it curves away from the walker and attach the strap to one of them.
- Place the splint over the walker handle.
- It should be snug enough so it does not rotate on the walker handle, and at the same time, it should be loose enough to be removed without excessive effort.
- If the Rolyan Walker Splint requires adjusting, spot heat the polyform splint with a heat gun or in a heated pan of water at 150 degrees to 160 degrees F (65 - 70 degrees C) until pliable.
- Heating the whole splint may cause it to lose its preformed shape.
- The Kushionflex pad can be placed where the heel of the hand rests on the splint.
- Trim it to fit as required before applying the self-adhesive back to the splint.
