Contraindications:
  • Not for treatment of severe sprains
  • Not for immediate treatment following fractures
  • Not for use over open wounds and infected areas

Precautions:
  • If unusual swelling, skin discoloration or discomfort occurs, use should be discontinued and a healthcare professional consulted.
  • The splint should fit snugly and comfortably without interfering with circulation.

Care and Cleaning:
  • Remove the stay from the pocket and close the hook fasteners.
  • Hand wash in cold water, without using detergent.
  • Allow to air dry thoroughly before reuse.

Instructions For Use:
  • The splint includes two stays, a plastic one for semi-rigid support, and a metal one for firmer support. Choose the appropriate stay and put it into the pocket. If using the metal stay, position it so the flat portion is along the wrist and the curve conforms to the curvature of the heel of the hand. Be sure the hem portion of the pocket is over the stay.
  • With the foam (white) surface up, place the splint on a flat surface.
  • Position the hand on the splint so the thumb is over the cutout and the stay is centered on the palm and wrist.
  • Wrap the wrist portion without the hook material around the wrist first. Then wrap the wrist portions with the hook material and secure the hook pieces to the splint surface.
  • Bring the strap through the web space between the thumb and forefinger and attach the hook tab to the splint surface.
  • The splint can be trimmed as needed, but do not trim through the stitched areas.
