Rolyan Aquaplast-T Perforated Functional Position Splint help prevent deformity from hypertonicity, to support inflamed joints or to immobilize joints after injury or surgery. It provides themaximum airflow which is ideal for hot or humid climates. 1/8" (3.2mm) perforations are patterned, so rigidity is not compromised. Comes in white color and is latex free.

Precautions -

  • To be fitted initially by a healthcare professional who is familiar with the purpose for which it is prescribed
  • If unusual swelling, skin discoloration or discomfort occurs, discontinue the use and consult a healthcare professional
  • Be careful that the straps are not so tight that they interfere with circulation
  • After heating splinting material, always check its temperature before applying it
  • When opening bag after heating material, avoid contact with hot vapors from bag

How to Use Aquaplast-T Functional Position Splint?

  • Soften in water heated to approximately 160°F (70°C) until pliable.
  • Remove from heat pan and place on a towel on a flat surface. Blot excess water.
  • Flare the web space by stretching the outer ridge of the splinting material so it contours to the web space.
  • If possible, place patients hand in supination to achieve a gravity-assisted position.
  • Mold the splint blank on the hand and forearm.
  • The splint can be trimmed and the edges flared if necessary.
  • Apply appropriate straps.

Care And Cleaning:


  • The splint will lose its shape in temperatures over 135°F (57°C). It should be kept away from sources of heat such as ovens, hot water, open flames, and sunny car windows.
  • The splint can be cleaned with soap and lukewarm water and allowed to dry thoroughly before reapplication.
