Quidel Sofia Rapid Test Kit employs immunofluorescence to detect influenza A and influenza B viral nucleoprotein antigens in the nasal swab, nasopharyngeal swab, and nasopharyngeal aspirate/wash specimens taken directly from symptomatic patients. It is compatible with RSV Extraction Reagent which means when testing with Sofia Influenza A+B FIA, a single patient sample may also be used to test with Sofia RSV FIA. It collects and dispenses the correct amount of samples needed for testing.
