How to use Polar Active Ice 3.0 Knee & Joint Cold Therapy System?
- Begin with the power supply unplugged.
- Connect therapy bladder hose tubes securely using quick disconnect couplings.
- Ensure the tab on the female coupling is pushed down; male couplings should click when properly locked.
- Connect optional #TCV temperature and flow control if purchased, turning the knob to “Coldest.”
- Open the reservoir and fill it with clean, cold water to the specified level, covering the pump.
- Fill the reservoir completely with ice up to the water return flow tube.
- If #TCD electronic control was bought, plug it in between the timer control and cooling reservoir, setting it to #5 or “Coldest.”
- Set up Digital Timer #DT30, plugging it into the cooling reservoir and the power supply into a wall outlet.
- If the optional battery pack is purchased, connect it now using the “To Cooler” cord for operation and the “To Charger” cord for charging.
- Activate the electronic digital timer, allowing water circulation through the bladder before securing it to the body part, and monitor water flow for system integrity.

How to care and maintain Polar Ice Machine For Knee?
- Empty and wipe out the cooling reservoir after each use.
- When necessary, rinse cooling reservoir and hoses with warm, antibacterial soapy water.
- Once every 2 weeks, pour 16 ounces of Isopropyl (Rubbing) Alcohol in the reservoir with the ice and water while system is in use.
- Allow the alcohol and water mixture to circulate through the system for at least 30 minutes.
- Periodically check the pump filter sponge and clean it or replace it. Do this by grasping the back of the pump and pulling the pump cover off.
- Then remove the black filter sponge.

How to clean and store Active Ice 3.0 Knee And Joint Cold Therapy?
Note: It is not possible to remove all of the water from the bladder, system and tubing; therefore before extended storage follow these instructions.
- Fill the reservoir to fill the line with water and add 2 tablespoons of liquid bleach for cleaning.
- Connect bladder, turn on unit, and let the water/bleach mix circulate for 5 minutes.
- Turn unit off, unplug, and drain the water/bleach mix, storing with the lid slightly open to avoid sunlight and extreme heat exposure.
- After extended storage, remove filter sponge from the pump motor, clean or replace it, and fill the reservoir with clean water.
- Connect old bladder and run the pump to flush the system (discard the old bladder pad).
- Consider purchasing a new bladder pad and filter sponge from Polar Products Inc.
- Dispose of water, refill reservoir with fresh ice and water, and follow the operating instructions.
- Before use, inspect hoses and new pad for tears or breaks.
- Contact Polar Products Inc. for a new therapy bladder pad and filter purchase.

If the unit is within its 180 day warranty period, it will be repaired or replaced with a new unit at no charge.
