Optifoam Basic Non-Adhesive Dressing Features

  • Smart Dressing: Optifoam Basic is considered a "smart" dressing because of its Moisture Vapor Transmission Rate (MVTR), which will adjust from 0 to 4500g/sqm per day, depending upon the level of fluid in the wound.
  • High Fluid Handling: Optifoam Basic Non-Adhesive Dressing can absorb a large amount of fluid when compared to other foam dressings.
  • Specially Designed Foam: Foam pads have micropores for low adherence to the wound surface. The foam island gently expands as it takes up the exudate, keeping the dressing in contact with the wound surface for improved fluid handling. Micropores in the foam help minimize the chance of granulation tissue migrating into the foam.
  • Waterproof Outer Layer: Protects waterproof outer layer, prevents strike-through and aids in the prevention of bacterial contamination of the wound.
  • Ideal Healing Environment: With its great protection against outside contaminants and high fluid handling capacity, Optifoam Basic helps provide an ideal healing environment.

Recommended Secondary Dressings

  • Optifoam Basic is ideal for both primary and secondary dressing. When used as a primary dressing, recommended secondary dressings are Medfix Tape and Elastic Net.
