Steps to Use iFOB Test Kit

Sampling Steps for Patients
STEP ONE: Obtain stool for sampling
1. Deposit the fecal sample on collection paper or in a clean cup.

STEP TWO: Collect small samples
1. Unscrew sampler from collection tube.
2. With fecal sample still on collection paper, randomly insert grooved end of sampler into the fecal sample in at least six different sites.
3. Insert the sampler into the collection tube and firmly tighten it. Do not reopen.
4. Shake the tube vigorously to mix the sample and the extraction buffer

STEP THREE: Return sample for testing
1. Place collection tube into plastic bag with absorbent pad and place bag into mailing envelope.
2. Seal envelope, add postage and mail to your doctor or laboratory.

Interpretation Steps for Clinicians
Quicker results mean quicker detection.
1. Shake collection tube vigorously for 20-30 seconds to ensure the sample is well mixed with buffer.
2. Remove test device from foil pouch.
3. Tap collection tube on hard surface to dislodge any trapped air in top of cap.
4. Invert tube several times. Unscrew tip cap on collection tube.
5. Holding tube vertically above sample well on the cassette, squeeze tube gently to dispense three drops into sample well.
6. Read result in 5 to 10 minutes. Do not read after 10 minutes.
