Lafayette Bone Anthropometer Sliding Calipers are available in two sizes:
- Small : range of 0 to 30cm in 0.1 cm increments which allows for measuring of wrist, elbow, knee, ankle widths and smaller muscle masses like the bicep and calf
- Large : range of 0 to 60cm in 0.1 cm increments which allows for measuring of shoulder width, long bone length and chest depth

Instructions:
- The subject being measured should wear minimal clothing and measurements should be taken from the right side of the body.
- Identify and mark all anatomical sites to be measured; grip the ends of C-shaped branches with the caliper arms resting against the forearms.
- Apply pressure to the branches moving the arm ends to the desired landmarks and read the scale along the base of the caliper to the nearest centimeter.
