Humane Restraint Ambulatory Locking Wrist-Waist Restraint Belt is used to secure a person's wrists at the waist. This restraint allows no freedom of movement of the arms. It is an easier glide belt with security locks and softer, adjustable wrist cuffs. The wrist cuffs are attached directly to the belt to control movement.

How to use Hospital Restraint by Humane Restraint?

  1. Unlock all locks
  2. Wrap belt around waist so that the lock is in back and on the right side of the body
  3. Loop the end of the belt through the lock and follow L-300 locking procedures
  4. Then take one wrist and put it into the open wrist cuff, wrap the cuff around the wrist, and fit to the appropriate size adjustment
  5. Follow L-300 locking procedures on back of this page to secure the lock
  6. Use this same procedure to secure the other wrist

L-300 Lock Instructions:

  1. To open lock: Insert key, turn until lock pops up. Slide out strap. If pressure is on the locking pin, pull strap to release tension.
  2. To close lock: Slide strap through and to adjustment; push down until it clicks.

Cleaning Instructions

  • Leather belt:
    • For regular cleaning, wipe with a mild soap and warm water.
    • When decontaminating bloodborne pathogens, use one cup of bleach to a gallon of water, then rinse.
    • After wiping the leather, allow it to air dry and apply neats-foot oil.
  • Polyurethane belt:
    • For regular cleaning, wipe with a mild soap and warm water.
    • When decontaminating bloodborne pathogens, use one cup of bleach to a gallon of water, then rinse and dry.
