Dexcom G6 Transmitter for Continuous Glucose Monitoring is the latest generation from dexcom to assist with continuous glucose monitoring. Its users find freedom in using a CGM system because it acts as an artificial pancreas, thus eliminating manual insulin injections. The transmitter is one of three parts of CGM, it has the responsibility of sending information to the diabetes insulin pump to release the amount of basal insulin the body needs. The transmitter is affixed to a G6 Sensor that's implanted into the skin in order for the transmitter to gather information.
