Comfy Boot is excellent for the treatment of plantar flexion, foot drop and wound care. Often used for bedridden patients to prevent heal pressure sores. The heel is elevated by the contours of the boot and protected and cushioned by the fleece lined cover to prevent any pressure on the heel. An anti-rotation bar hidden under the fleece cover that can be used to control hip and leg rotation.

Instructions to use Comfy Boot


  1. Remove the comfy boot and open velcro closures. Write patient name on splint
  2. Perform passive range of motion to ankle to allow for maximum range. Flex knee and place foot in splint
  3. Close velcro fasteners for snug fit but ensure that heel of comfy boot is floating free
  4. Adjusting the toe-posts: Loosen the knob on the bottom of the comfy boot. Position the toe post to extend beyond the toes, in order to protect the toes. Tighten the knob
  5. For the individual who is lying on their side, the toe post can be positioned obliquely to minimize pressure on the side of the foot. Loosen the knob on the sole of the comfy boot and rotate the toe-tost. Re-tighten the knob 
  6. The anti-rotation bar may be used to position the foot for internal and external rotation. Loosen the knob on the back of the comfy boot and position the bar on the side to which the leg is rotating. Tighten the knob.
