How to use See and Speak Object Communicator?

1. Gently turn the unit over to reveal the black battery compartment. Carefully remove the small screw from the battery compartment cover using a Phillips head screwdriver, and slide the battery compartment cover off. Observing polarity, install four AA size batteries into the holder. Alkaline batteries must be used only (e.g. Duracell or Energizer brand). Do not use rechargeable batteries or any other type of batteries because they supply lower voltage and the unit will not perform properly. Replace the battery compartment cover and replace the screw. 
2. Turn the unit on by turning the ON/OFF/VOLUME knob located on the back of the unit. You will hear an audible click when the unit turns on. 
3. To record, simply press and hold the “RECORD” button on the back panel of the unit first, then press down the plate switch. While continuing to hold the record button and the plate switch, speak your message. Your mouth should be about 6 inches from the microphone when recording. Release both the record button and the plate switch when you finish recording. 
4. To play back your message, simply activate the plate switch. It is not necessary to continue holding the plate switch when listening to the message. The unit will continue to playback the entire message, even if pressure on the plate is released. 
5. The unit will retain recorded information indefinitely, even if the batteries are disconnected. Previously stored information will be erased only when a new recording is performed. 
6. The level knob will allow you to select from one to twelve levels. The message knob is used to select 1 of 4 messages per level (six seconds per message). When you record four messages they will be saved on the level selected, until you re-record over them. 
7. Playback volume can be adjusted using the “ON/OFF/VOLUME” control knob located on the bottom panel of the unit.
