Supporting the Sacroiliac Joint

It is the joint between the sacrum under the spine and the ilium bones of the pelvis. The spine is supported by the sacrum which is in turn supported by the ilium bones. They are connected by strong ligaments. There are two sacroiliac joints, one on the left and one on the right. The main function of the joint is to absorb shock for the spine.
