The clavicle is a long horizontal collarbone. It connects the shoulder blade to the breastplate. There are two clavicles, one on the left and the other on the right. Its major function is to keep the upper limb far from the thorax so that the arms get the maximum movement. It also protects a neurovascular bundle that supplies the upper limb.
