Scientific name for Lovage Leaf is Levisticum Officinalis. Lovage essential oil is steam distilled from the leaves and stalks of a plant in the dill family that grows in many parts of Europe. In antiquity, it was brought to Britain by the Romans from the Ligurian coast of Italy and then to America by the early colonists, who used it as food and medicine.
